Fees

• Fees are to be paid per term. We have 6 terms throughout the academic year, these coincide with school terms and can vary in length. Invoices are sent a week in advance of a new term.

• All fees must be paid before commencement of any class.

• Late payments will occur a £5.00 charge.

• Class fees are payable via invoice using credit/debit card or through smart payments using your mobile.

• We cannot offer refunds if a student misses a class, if a student can not attend a class, nor can payments be transferred over to the next term.

• If there is an outstanding balance on an account a student will not be able to enrol in a new class until the account is settled.

• Throughout the year there may be additional costs on top of your class fees. These could include fees for exams, shows, performances, activities, and events. Details will always be sent out in advance.

 

 

Refunds/Cancellations

• In the event of student absence classes are non-refundable.

• In the event of a local or national lock down due to a pandemic, classes will continue via Zoom or pre-recorded sessions. Classes will be non-refundable.

• In the event of teacher illness or unavailability of dance studio, the class will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.

• In cases of extreme weather, classes may need to be cancelled. A decision will be made in the best interest of our students.

 

 

 

Forms and Policies

• Please make sure all policies have been read and understood.

• It is the parent/guardian and carers’ responsibility to inform us of any changes or updates to personal information, emergency contact details, or medical issues.

• All students must have completed our enrolment form when joining the Stephanie Boast School of Dance.

 

 

 

Trial

• We offer prospective students the chance to participate in trial classes over a two-week period.

• Please contact the school directly for details of cost and how to book in.

• Students must have completed a consent form before taking part in their trial so the school has emergency contact details and any relevant medical information.

• Trials must be paid for in advance.

• No student can commence their trial until payment has been received.

 

 

 

Exams

• Exams are optional but encouraged.

• If we feel a student is ready for an examination, we will issue an exam invite with all the relevant information provided.

• It is compulsory for students to attend all extra exam rehearsals and partake in their own practise at home in preparation.

• We reserve the right to withdraw a student at any time.

 

 

 

Contact

• Please only contact the school through email, if you would like to arrange a phone call please email the school to arrange a suitable time.

• Please do not contact teachers through personal social media platforms.

 

 

 

Termination

• A terms notice must be given via email.

• Notice is required so that, if necessary, we can make any amendments to our classes and/or timetable.

• No refunds shall be given for any remaining weeks or events if you decide to leave us part way through a term and if you do not fulfil termination guidelines.

Students

• Students must be dressed in the correct uniform for each class. New students are expected to be wearing the correct uniform by the end of their first term.

• Students must conduct themselves in a disciplined manner while on the school’s premises. This will ensure the safety and well-being of all students and their families.

• The school is only responsible for students whilst they are in lessons.

• No jewellery or watches are to be worn in class for health and safety reasons. Hair must be tied back off of the face. Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes from Grade 1 upwards.

• Chewing gum is strictly forbidden.

• Mobile phones should be switched off or put on silent in class.

• The Stephanie Boast School of Dance and associated venues cannot be held liable for any lost or damaged belongings. Please ensure all of your dance wear is named.

• The Stephanie Boast School of Dance reserves the right to dismiss any student whose behaviour is deemed continuously disruptive or unacceptable, with immediate effect. No refund will be given.

 

 

 

Injury and Illness

• We must be informed before every class if you have an injury.

• If a student is unwell, please do not send them, especially if they have contagious symptoms.

• If a student has had sickness and/or diarrhoea, they are not permitted to return to any classes until 48 hours have passed from the last incident.

• Refunds or a transfer of fees can not be given if a student is ill, injured or has to miss classes due to COVID.

 

 

Parents/Guardians

• Parents/Guardians should be aware that due to the nature of the dance class it is often necessary for the teacher to use appropriate physical contact when teaching students. A copy of the safeguarding policy can be found on the website.

• Parents/Guardians and families should wait quietly outside the studio whilst classes are in progress.

• Our associated venues are no smoking zones.

• Children of primary school age and under must be collected from the studio by their Parent/Guardian or responsible adult. The teacher must be informed if collection is to be undertaken by persons other than the child’s parent or legal guardian.

• All correspondence will be sent via email. Parents/Guardians must provide a valid email address and ensure that they have added the dance school’s details to their contact list to avoid information going into spam/junk folders.

 

 

 

Photography Disclosure

 

From time to time your child may be photographed for marketing purposes. The photos will be available on the dance school website and social media pages. Please agree/disagree when completing your child's enrolment form.

 

 

Statement of commitment

 

The Stephanie Boast School of Dance will not enter students for examinations if they attend other dance classes outside of the school.

 

 

Data Protection Disclosure

 

I accept and agree to the Stephanie Boast School of Dance holding my contact details for the duration of my child’s study. The Stephanie Boast School of Dance will not share my details with anyone including third parties
